The Kool Skools State Awards Nights are held in November each year to showcase and celebrate the best songs and performances from the year’s Kool Skools with approximately 40 acts perform live across the two nights, one in Melbourne and one held in Sydney.
The Kool Skool Awards nights are designed to be like the ARIA Awards for young players with nominations and awards across a wide range of genres.
Each year, the Special Judges Award categories are changed to reflect the music recorded that year, but typically the awards include:
- Best Cover Art
- Best Multimedia
- Best Indie Track
- Best Rock/Alternative Track
- Best Ballad
- Best Acoustic Track
- Best Rock Band
- Best Female Vocal
- Best Male Vocal
- Koolest Skool
The Koolest Skool Award is for the school that has the best and most wide ranging album for the year, here are the previous Koolest Skools over the history of the project.
